North Myrtle Beach is a popular tourist destination because of its proximity to beaches, the Briarcliffe Acres, and Little River. It’s located just north of the famous Grand Strand. It was officially established in 1968 when four other beaches were consolidated into what we now call North Myrtle Beach.
What is North Myrtle Beach, SC known for? Each year visitors come to enjoy North Myrtle Beach’s golfing, sunbathing, and fishing. It is also the birthplace of “the shag”- a 1930’s dance that visitors are encouraged to learn in the local clubs.
